PLATTSBURGH Clinton Community College has announced the promotion of Steven G. Frederick as associate vice president of institutional advancement. Frederick first joined the college community in 1992 as the director of career planning and placement. He left the college in 1994 to pursue a business partnership in a financial services firm and returned in 2002 as the new dean of development and alumni affairs. As the associate vice president for institutional advancement, Frederick is responsible for implementing fund development as well as public relations and community outreach. In his position Frederick will work closely with the College Foundation Board, Alumni Board and the College Board of Trustees. He reports directly to the president, Frederick, who believes in a global approach to campus fundraising, is preparing for a major gifts campaign for the college. The campaign is currently in the silent phase. A successful major gifts campaign, added to other efforts Frederick has developed over the last several years, will help the college to fulfill its mission. CCC is such a great asset in the North Country, said Frederick. We want to enhance educational opportunities for all students and strengthen economic development. Frederick received his master of science in counseling in 1990 and a bachelor of arts in political science in 1988 from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. Frederick and his wife, Debbie, and their three children, Daniel, Amanda and Megan, live in West Chazy.
