High school students in the Middlebury area can still enroll in the Community College of Vermont's free Introduction to College Studies course which starts Sept. 15. This 13-week class helps students develop skills and strategies for college success. Among the topics covered are note and test taking, study and communication skills, time and stress management, goal setting, financial aid, and more.
In addition to a Tuesday afternoon class, CCV has added another section that will meet on Wednesday afternoons from 3:45 to 5:45 pm. Registration for the course is currently under way. Those interested should visit www.ccv.edu, call 388-3032 or stop by the CCV office at 10 Merchants Row.
More than 1,000 Vermont high school students enroll in the ICS course each year and go on to take a free course at the Community College of Vermont, Castleton State College, Lyndon State College, Johnson State College, Vermont Technical College or other participating colleges and universities.
