INDIAN LAKE - The Indian Lake Garden Club is hosting a presentation entitled, "101 Uses for Plants of the Adirondacks, Today and Yesterday". The program will be presented by Ellen Rathbone, Environmental Educator and naturalist with the Adirondack Park Agency Visitor Interpretive Center in Newcomb. While drawn to wildlife, Ellen has found that studying plants to be one of the most interesting disciplines simply because plants are pretty stationary.
"You can sneak up on them and they don't run or fly away," she said.
Her presentation will share what she has learned to be one of the most fascinating aspects of plants - how people have used them both in the past and in more modern times. The program will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21 at the Indian Lake Ski Hut located on Route 30. The program is free to guests and new members are welcome.
