PLATTSBURGH - Girls Night Out, the Foundation of CVPH's annual recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, will be held in the E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh's Hawkins Hall on Beekman Street Tuesday, Oct. 12. Showtimes will be 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Dr. Anne Cahill, cardiothoracic surgeon, will offer "Your Heart, Your Life," a presentation about the importance of heart health. Cahill practices at Champlain Valley Cardiothoracic Surgeons and is the newest member of the Champlain Valley Heart Center. The Boobie Sisters, Plattsburgh's beloved and irreverent troupe of performing breast cancer survivors will perform and featured this year is comedian Mrs. Hughes who will present, "The Skewed Views of Mrs. Hughes." Hughes appears regularly in Las Vegas and offers some hilarious observations on being woman, wife, mother and grandmother. She proves that laughter is indeed the best medicine.
The 2010 Boobie Prize Winner will be announced at the 7:30 p.m. show and will honor a community member who has a made a significant impact on the fight against breast cancer in this community.
WPTZ News Channel 5's Stephanie Gorin will be the night's emcee.
Tickets are available at General Trading Company, Koffee Kat, Champlain Centre, SUNY Plattsburgh Angell College Center, and on Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Patient Information Desk in the CVPH Medical Center lobby. Tickets are also available on-line at www.cvph.org. The cost is $15.
