NORTH CREEK Gore Mountain unveils a landmark development for the 2007/2008 snow season, the new Northwoods Lodge by Lincoln Logs. Built in classic Adirondack Great Camp style, the new lodge will add convenience and improved service for every Gore Mountain guest. The Northwoods Lodge will be the new home of the Snow Sports Center and Kids Klub, an improved rental shop, and Bear Cub Den Daycare. In celebration of opening the Northwoods Lodge, the Snow Sports School is offering a buffet of new program choices for all ages, including new one and two-day clinics, adult holiday camps, and season-long teen programs. Gore Mountain is a Burton Learn-to-Ride (LTR) Method Center, combining snowboards specific to ability level and age with proven teaching techniques that make learning to snowboard easier and more effective. Gore now offers women-specific snowboards in conjunction with a variety of specialized LTR clinics, including women-only programs. The new rental shop will feature a fresh selection of demo twin tips, and a grinding stone for tune-ups. The opening of the Northwoods Lodge by Lincoln Logs is the culmination of several recent improvements to the beginner and family experience at Gore Mountain. These include Bear Mountain's "Ruby Run," a trail that provides guests over two miles of continuous green-circle cruising serviced by the Northwoods Gondola. Also, the "Bear Cub Run" base area trail was perfected to an ideal grade for first-timers, and the "Snow Train" conveyor lift was lengthened to 100'. Guests heading directly to the slopes will benefit from 7,500 square feet of remodeled space in the Base Lodge! More seating, lockers, hooks, and storage space will now be available. Major snowmaking upgrades including three new pumps will increase capacity and efficiency, while opening more terrain earlier in the season. Another new groomer (the fourth in just three seasons) will provide an even stronger fleet to maintain Gore Mountain's superior conditions. Remarkable progress at the North Creek Ski Bowl includes the December 2007 opening of a new triple chairlift, servicing 150 vertical feet. There will be family-friendly skiing and riding on the green-circle Village Slope trail, and Ski Bowl "Park," a new terrain park with half-pipe! Season passholders will enjoy added-value benefits of skiing and riding there. This improvement will enhance the tubing park already established at the North Creek Ski Bowl. Guests can purchase both season passes and snow sports programs at reduced rates until Friday, November 9! All products are available online at www.goremountain.com, or call (518) 251-2411.
