Gov. John Lynch and Sen. Bob Odell (Dist.#8) dedicated the Alstead, NH bridge on November 11 along with other dignitaries.
This was the bridge that was washed out in the deadly Alstead to Walpole Flood of 2005. The new bridge was dedicated as the Alstead Veterans Memorial Bridge.
Veterans from as far back as World War II attended the dedication, along with service groups that included the VFW, American Legion, Fall Mountain Jr. ROTC, Boy Scouts and nearly 300 supporters and guests.
The dedication included speeches, flags and uniforms of the various service's, everyone joining in for the singing of 'God Bless America', a ribbon cutting, and the presenting of two new signs at each end of the bridge, the Love of Country, our Veterans and the State of New Hampshire.
