BRANT LAKE A group offering educational, therapeutic and childcare services to families with children from birth through age 6 has opened for business in Brant Lake. Adirondack Building Blocks LLC at 25 Market St. will offer a nursery school session beginning this month on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Future plans call for a mommy and me program and an after school program for children in grades K-6. Up in this area theres really nothing for the little guys, said office manager Corina Frasier. So were trying to fill that void. The owners of the business, Karen Kowlczyk, a licensed physical therapist, and Jeanine Lawlor, a licensed occupational therapist, will also offer pediatric early intervention services on a contract basis through Warren County, Frasier said. Additionally, the group is working with North Warren, Schroon Lake, Minerva and Johnsburg school districts to develop after-school programs including homework help and other activities. The business first opened on Dec. 1. An open house at the facility a week ago drew a healthy crowd. We really feel theres a need for this in the area, Frasier said. The first nursery school session will run from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday - Thursdays. Those interested in learning more may call 494-4800.
