HAGUE - A new 27-foot commercial Boston Whaler fire-rescue boat will be put into service on Lake George this summer by the Hague Fire Department.
The boat has two 225 horse-powered Mercury 4-stroke engines with a top speed of 50 mph and includes radar, GPS, chart plotter for Lake George and sonar for underwater searches.
It will be a multi-use vessel with a 675 GPM fire pump and front-mounted deck gun.
Also featured is a 36-inch removable dive door making it easier for divers to get in and out of the water as well as bringing aboard accident victims.
Hague Fire Department is responsible for 40 miles of lakefront and over 800 structures in their district encompassing Warren, Washington and Essex counties; this recent addition was badly needed and will be the only rescue boat on the northern point of the lake, according to Chief Jim Young.
