CHAZY - The Beavers rallied late to defeat Chazy in MVAC boys basketball Jan. 14.
After a slow start, Keene scored 27 points in the fourth quarter to overcome Chazy's 34-31 lead.
Luke Andrews led the Beavers with 15 points. Patrick O'Dell and Cody Whitney chipped in 13 apeice.
Chazy got most of its scoring from Chris Vliege, Shea Howley and Michael Santor, who each scored 15 for the Eagles.
Willsboro 39, Bolton 38
BOLTON - Willsboro edged Bolton in overtime in MVAC boys basketball Jan. 14.
Down by 10 at halftime, Willsboro battled back, sending the game to overtime with a 3-pointer by Lucas Strong with 1.4 seconds on the clock.
Bolton's only basket in the extra period was a 3-pointer by Ben Gaddy with 14 seconds left. Gaddy drew a foul on the play, but did not convert on the free throw. He finished with 15 points to lead the Eagles.
Ticonderoga 61, AuSable Valley 53
TICONDEROGA - The Patriots' division-leading record came under fire Jan. 14 as the Sentinels handed them a loss in CVAC boys basketball.
Ticonderoga started the game with a 13-2 run before AuSable Valley would battle back, cutting the Sentinels' lead to one before halftime.
The third quarter proved costly for the Patriots, however, as Ticonderoga outscored them 17-9. A late surge by AVCS cut the lead to 4, but Ticonderoga held on for the win.
Jesse Clark was key for the Sentinels with 14 points. Jake Taylor and John Molina added 11 and 10, respectively.
T.J. Burl was the leading scorer for AuSable Valley with 15 points, and Jordan Coolidge came off the bench to score 13, including three 3-pointers.
Willsboro 45, Elizabethtown-Lewis 39
ELIZABETHTOWN - The Warriors withstood a third quarter rally by Elizabethtown-Lewis to improve to 4-4 in MVAC boys basketball Jan. 16.
Down by four points at halftime, the Lions grabbed a 29-24 lead by the end of three, but Willsboro soon regained the lead.
Alex Hamel led a 21-10 run for the Warriors as he scored 13 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter.
Indian/Long Lake 51, Keene 36
INDIAN LAKE - The Orange built an 11-point lead in the second quarter and held on for the win against Keene in MVAC boys basketball Jan. 16.
Jeff Reynolds put up 20 points, including four 3-pointers for Indian Lake/Long Lake, who were ahead just 13-10 after one quarter.
Keene struggled with free-throw shooting as they connected on just 5-15 from the stripe.
Kris Bain added 19 points, and 11 rebounds for the Orange as they improved to 9-2 overall for the season.
Sam Earl led the Beavers with 11 points and Patrick O'Dell contributed 10.
