Noted area archeologist David Starbuck will be hosting the public and conducting a tour of his historic farm from 7 to 9 p.m. June 25. People are welcome to come at 6 p.m. and bring a meal with them.
Starbuck is a direct descendant of one of Chestertown's earliest settlers, and has been excavating and restoring the farm buildings and homestead as part of his plan to make the farm productive in this new century. The hog house, corn house, upper barns and newly restored homestead have existed since 1800, and the Starbuck farm is unique because of the number of buildings still present on the original landscape.
The event is sponsored by Warren County Historical Society. For details, see: www.warrencountyhistoricalsociety.org.
