JOHNSBURG The Indian Lake/Long Lake boys varsity soccer team secured another win on Sept. 25, this time against Johnsburg on the JCS home field. Jordan Monthony scored the Oranges first goal early on in the game followed by Jeff Reynolds with the second. The game ended at 2-1 and adds to the teams already strong season in MVAC Southern division soccer. I thought it was a good game, Orange coach John Reynolds said. We recently lost our center half-back, Jordan Wallace, due to an injury so it was our first game without him. I think we were a little disorganized and Johnsburg played an outstanding game. Both teams had some good chances and we were fortunate enough to get two in. This week the Orange will play the National Sports Academy at the North Country Community College, Minerva\Newcomb at home on Wednesday, and Bolton Landing on Friday. Were definitely going to have a busy week, Reynolds added. With a solid record of wins so far in the season and despite the injury, Reynolds is guardedly optimistic about the Oranges division-wide standing. Our season is really looking good right now and we havent lost - overall were 7-0-1, he said. Theres a couple key injuries that are definitely going to hurt us but well see how the other kids step-up. We need one more win to basically wrap-up our division and then well go from there.
