QUEENSBURY Civil service examinations will be held soon for several job openings and potential future positions, and Warren County is encouraging local residents to apply. Job openings include Payroll Clerk in the county Treasurers office, a part-time position as a county Probation Assistant, a post as Payroll Clerk in the Lake George Central School, and a position as Supervisor of Maintenance for Bolton Central School. The latter has a salary of $46,409. The aforementioned full-time county positions have salaries of $27,559. The position of Payroll Clerk in Lake George schools has a salary of $35,000. The part-time Probation position pays $13,780. The civil service examinations for the jobs will be held Nov. 1, and the deadline for accepting applications for the exams and the positions is Oct. 1. Applicants to the county positions must be residents of the county for at least four months. The examinations will cover basic knowledge and skills related to job duties, which are detailed in fact sheets available from the county Personnel office. There are also two job openings for custodians, one at Adirondack Community College, and one at Hadley-Luzerne Central School District. Civil service examinations will be held Oct. 25 for these positions, and the deadline for accepting applications for the exams and the positions is Oct. 8. Another open civil service examination is being held to pre-qualify candidates for Warren County job positions as Senior Account Clerk as they may be available in the future. This examination is to be held Nov. 1, and the deadline to apply is Oct. 1. Qualifications for the above positions dont necessarily require college degrees.
