It was a very quiet week here in Keeseville. I know that the work on the Tree Festival is continuing at the Nazarene Church and they are very interested in finding ways to promote this event and get people to our area for it. If anyone has ideas or ways to promote this successfully please contact the church at 834-9408.
I received another email from a reader, Don Loreman, concerning the other bridges in our community. I often have wondered about the closed bridge as it is a very beautiful structure. When I get a chance I will really have to research the history of our area. Please keep sending me information as I will save it and see what I can turn it into for an article or work of its own.
I would love to know more about the mill work that went on in the AuSable River back in the day. It was a very big industry for this community. The rocks have such a wonderful effect on so many properties around the community. I would love to know the history of about this as well as about the first settlers here. Keep those emails coming, I really appreciate them.
Now that things are so quiet, this is a great time to visit or use our library. They have several great databases that are free for the public to use including one on small engine repair, which is great as those books can be very expensive.
The Keeseville Elementary School Scholastic Bookfair is going on right now and actually is winding down. If you get a chance stop in and shop. Books make great Holiday gifts and every purchase helps out the school tremendously. Often there are exclusive prices as Scholastic is the premier publisher of children's books. Best of luck to the school on its sale.
Enjoy the last of our leaves and the earth before the snow starts! With the clock change I have to start walking in the morning instead of at night! Stay safe everyone!
