KEESEVILLE - The Keeseville Elks Lodge #2072 will be hosting its annual Soccer Shoot 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at the field behind the Lodge. There will be music, games, and refreshments for all ages.
The Soccer Shoot is a fun, drug-free activity for all children age 13 and younger. The Elks Soccer Shoot program consists of two different contests that test different level skills at different ages.
Participants in the U-8 and U-10 age groups compete in the Five Goal Contest, which consists of a series of five goals, decreasing in size from 48 inches to 17 inches. The U-8 contestants kick from 15 feet from the face of the goal, while the U-10 contestants kick from 18 feet from the goal.
Participants in the U-12 and U-14 age groups compete in the Grid Goal Contest, which consists of a full-size goal sectioned off so points can be scored when the ball is kicked into certain sections. The contest is open to both boys and girls, and they shoot separately. Bring a copy of the child's birth certificate for proof of age.
