SHELBURNE Bob Lake of Shelburne is the Republican candidate for the Vermont House of Representatives for Chittenden District 5-2, representing Shelburne and St. George. He is challenging incumbent Democrat Joan Lenes. Lake is a native Vermonter, born and raised in Brattleboro. He has been a resident of Shelburne since 1992. Prior to 1988, he followed in his familys tradition, becoming involved in law enforcement. In 1988 he left the field of law enforcement and started and ran the first of many successful companies. He currently is president of Majestic Corporation. In serving his community, Lake was elected as Justice of The Peace and served on the Board of Civil Authority in Shelburne. He is currently the vice chairman of the Green Mountain Credit Union Board of Directors. His professional experience led him to his decision to run for election to the Vermont House of Representatives. I understand the frustration that many Vermonters have with the economy, wages, and taxes. Ill bring my business knowledge and the passion needed to address the issues facing the economy of Vermont. The health of Vermonts economy is dependent on employers providing jobs with adequate wages to support low to middle income families, he said. According to Lake, he is an advocate of teamwork. His approach intends to initiate conversations that motivate action and collaborative work with all parties, in order to provide the best solutions to current issues and to move Vermonts way of life in the right direction. Lake states that preserving Vermonts environment for people to enjoy in the years to come is a priority. He would like the children of today, including his own son, to experience Vermont as he has experienced it. I have compassion for the people of this state, and I understand economics, along with the need to respect our environment. People who know me would say I have an ability to think outside of the box, and that can be a great attribute to bring to the residents of Shelburne and St. George. As their representative I will bring a prospective to Montpelier that has not seen in years, Lake said. Lake can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 802-985-8054.
