PLATTSBURGH — A local resident has been arrested and charged with felony DWI under Leandra’s Law after a traffic stop in Plattsburgh Tuesday.
Thomas W. Hollon was pulled over by state police on Lakeshore Drive when the trooper noticed an unsecured 4-year-old leaning out of the rear passenger side window of his 2014 Kia Sol.
Hollon, of Plattsburgh, was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance, said state police. He was transported to the University of Vermont Health Care Network in Plattsburgh where his blood was drawn for testing.
Hollon was charged with Felony Aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law and DWAI-Drugs, and was further ticketed for a seatbelt violation.
It’s unclear what the relationship was with Hollon and the female child, who was turned over to a family member.
Hollon was released with tickets returnable to the Town of Plattsburgh Court on Oct. 27 at 4 p.m.
