RUTLAND Semper Fidelis (Always Faithful); Once a Marine always a Marine. The United States Marine Corps motto and one of their slogans draw Marines of every generation together to celebrate the birthday and proud traditions of their corps. For some it may be only a momentary pause in operational missions, for others it is an opportunity to come together to honor their Marine Corps and Marine brethren. Edson Detachment of the Marine Corps League will host the 233rd United States Marine Corps Birthday Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 8. The semi-formal affair will be held at the Franklin Conference Center, Howe Center, One Scale Avenue in Rutland. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. with a cash bar and dinner at 7 p.m. Entr饠choices are prime rib, boneless breast of chicken Kiev and baked Boston scrod. The cost is $25 per person.
