TICONDEROGA - Ticonderoga teachers will take night jobs at the local McDonald's June 8.
That's when the Ticonderoga Elementary-Middle School will host "McTeacher Night" at the Ti McDonald's on Wicker Street.
The event will feature teachers serving food 4:30-7 p.m. to raise money for a new playground at the school.
Scott Heaburg, McDonald's owner, has agreed to donate 100 percent of the food and beverages sold to the purchase and construction of a new playground at Ticonderoga Elementary-Middle School.
In May, the large playground located at the elementary-middle school had to be removed to accommodate construction of part of the new bus drop off area and access road.
"Unfortunately, the current playground pieces no longer meet safety code once they are removed from their original location," said Sarah Chapin of the PTO. "Because of this, a new playground will be built at the complex. To help with its cost, teachers and staff from Ticonderoga Central School District will be cooking, cleaning-up and waiting on customers at McDonald's on June 8.
"Please help us reach our goal of raising $4,000," she said.
