MINERVA - The month of May was a busy one for the Minerva Rescue Squad, as a total of ten emergency response calls were received. Ranging from a motorcycle accident to an allergic reaction to transports to the Glens Falls Hospital Behavioral Health Unit, the Minerva squad responded to all calls it could get to. Twice during the month, a second call was received while the squad was on its way to Glens Falls Hospital with a patient; the Johnsburg Rescue Squad came up to Minerva to help with each of these second calls. The busiest squad members in terms of responses were Kathy Halloran, Harold Shaw, and Karan Wright, with seven each for the month. A total of 12 volunteers responded to the dispatch alert tones this month. If interested, please talk with any member of the Department to find out about joining.
The Minerva Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad will be hosting a breakfast at the Minerva Firehouse on State Route 28N on Sunday, June 20, from 8 to 11 a.m.
