Moriah opened the boys basketball season by winning the Willsboro Shootout Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. The Vikings won the title with a 51-15 rout of Chazy in the championship game. Moriah raced to a 13-5 lead coasted to the win. Tyler Blaise and Jim Carlson each had 12 points for the champs. Moriah rallied to come from behind and beat host Willsboro, 40-38, in the opening round. Trailing33-27 in the final quarter, the Vikings closed the game on a 13-5 run for the victory. Tyler Blaise had 12 points for Moriah. Hayden Whalen added nine. Panthers third Crown Point took third place in the Johnsburg Tournament in boys basketball play Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. The Panthers lost to Host Johnsburg, 53-35, in the opening round. Tony Rodriguez had 12 points and John Budwick 10 for Crown Point. In the consolation game, Crown Point beat Wells, 60-50. Indian Lake-Long Lake 57, Crown Point 28 Crown Point lost to Indian Lake-Long Lake, 57-28, in a Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference cross-over boys basketball game Nov. 27. The Panthers fell behind early and never recovered. John Budwick scored nine points for Crown Point.
