Weekly play sessions for children including babies and toddlers are starting up for the season on Sept. 20 at Adirondack Community Outreach Center between Wevertown and North Creek.
Intended for children up through age 3 and their parents and caregivers, the sessions are held on the first, second and third Tuesdays of each month from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The play group is sponsored by The Baby’s Place, a program of North Country Ministry.
Activities are tailored for young children, and include unstructured play, creative experiences, music and movement and learning about the world through discovery, according to Jan Thurling of North Country Ministry.
In the sessions, mothers, fathers, grandparents and other caregivers enjoy play with their little ones and the supportive companionship of other adults, she said.
The volunteer leaders have years of experience in early childhood education and human services.
There is no cost for the play group, and all families with children under 4 are welcome to attend. For details, or if transportation is needed, call Teresa at 251-4460.
Play Group leaders are interested in expanding to a fourth Tuesday, but need more volunteer help.
