NORTH CREEK When Katherine Feiden cut the ribbon in front of her new store on Main Street last Saturday, it was the culmination of a lifelong dream for the North Creek woman. Born and raised here, Feiden had always wanted to own her own business. And after 16 years at the Copperfield Inn, most recently as food and beverage manager, Feiden has taken the leap into self-employment. Her new, shop called Foothills, offers an eclectic mix of antiques and new antique reproductions. Our slogan is where the old meets the new, Feiden said. The store opened Dec. 21 without much fanfare, Feiden said. But the response has been very favorable. Its been well received, Feiden said. Weve had good local support, excellent support, in fact. In addition to her own business, Feiden leases space to two antique dealers, one of which is her own family, who have been in the antique business for years. The shop features large pieces such as tables and chairs, buffets and armoires, as well as smaller decorative pieces such as lamps, mirrors and wall hangings. Theres something for everyone, Feiden observed. The shop is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
