The good news is that Big Blue is on a roll; the bad news is Im having a horrible picking year. In eight years of doing this, Ive never been so low in the standings. My dismal 6-8 Week 7 was the single-worst score of the week. But who would have thought Buffalo would beat Baltimore? And Denver over Pittsburgh? Apparently, several of our pickers did.
On the other side of the spectrum, Jed Armstrong took top honors with a 12-2 week. John Santasier came in at 11-3, which was good enough to move him into a tie for first with John Gereau.
On to Week 8, The New York Football Giants are headed to London to face the Dolphins. Big Blue will give Miami and international spanking, take the next week off, and then host the dreaded Cowgirls Nov. 11, likely for NFC East supremacy.
Obviously, Im having difficulty picking games this year, and there are several Week 8 match-ups Im struggling with, namely Buffalo at Jets, Detroit at Chicago, and Philadelphia at Minnesota. Im taking Gang Green, and itll be the last time this year if they dont come away with a victory. The Eagles stink this year, but I watched the Vikings quarterback last week and he REALLY stinks! Ill go with Philly. Finally, you never know which Bears team will take the field, and its still hard to actually pick the Lions after all those years of cellar-dwelling, so Im going with the Vegas line and taking Chicago for no good reason.
I will make my way up the picking list, albeit a little at a time, so dont count me out just yet!
