SILVER BAY The Northern Lake George Rotary Club meets at Silver Bay YMCA of the Adirondacks at 7:30 a.m. every Tuesday. Emily Palmer a senior at Ticonderoga High School came to speak to the Rotary Club at Silver Bay in March about her trip to Nicaragua during her February break. She traveled to the country to work with the North Country Mission of Hope to build homes for women. She visited an orphanage, built a home and brought medical supplies to the citizens of Nicaragua. Palmer gave a power point presentation. The up-coming guest speakers are: May 6 Andy Belkevich a history addict of Ticonderoga will talk about forming a Ticonderoga Militia. Belkevich, a long-standing historical re-enactor, recently talked at the Kiwanis Club and has been actively working towards initiating a local militia. May 13th Bill Dolbeck, Ticonderoga town historian, will talk about The History of Ticonderoga and the International Paper Mill. He is a collector of old Ticonderoga photographs of people and places representing the commercial, industrial and social traits. Dolbeck was born and raised in Ticonderoga and is also the president of the Ticonderoga Historical Society and a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Navy.
