CHESTERTOWN - A special meeting of the North Warren Central Board of Education has been called for 6 p.m. Monday, May 2 to reconsider aspects of the school district's 2011-12 budget.
Under the spending plan, the local tax levy would increase 2.8 percent from 2010-11, reaching $8.56 million. Total spending, however, is to decrease from $12.54 million to $12.36 million.
The school officials are slated to discuss whether to leave money in the budget earmarked for 3 percent salary increases for administrative staff.
At a recent special meeting, an initiative to grant the increases was defeated, but apparently the money to cover the raises was left in the budget.
