A 19-year-old woman was taken to the hospital following an automobile accident in Tupper Lake Monday morning.
According to reports, Faith Whelan of Tupper Lake was driving a Pontiac Grand Am east along state Route 3 at about 9 a.m. Monday when she lost control.
Ray Brook-based state police say Whelan exited the road's south shoulder, striking an embankment.
Emergency and rescue personnel arrived at the scene moments later and transported Whelan to the Adirondack Medical Center, where she was treated for arm and abdomen pain and released.
No additional information was immediately available Tuesday morning and police are investigating the cause of the accident.
