The former Willsboro Central School building will be turned into the Champlain Valley Senior Community by developer Eli Schwartzberg, who will be holding an open house at the site Oct. 1.
As they get closer to their funding goal, Eli Schwartzberg is opening the former Willsboro Central School for a tour.
Schwartzberg, the developer of the Champlain Valley Senior Community which will be built through the renovation of the former school, will host the open house on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m.
“We are looking to start construction in about two months,” Schwartzberg said. “There will be a guided tour of the building, and we want to let people know what is going on and get some more community support.”
Schwartzberg said that the financing for the project is in place, along with a contribution from the Essex County Industrial Development Agency of a small loan. He added that he is still looking to raise a final $400,000 to go toward construction closing costs.
“The worse thing that could happen is to have the project fail at the finish line over a couple hundred thousand dollars,” Schwartzberg said.
