Former area resident and pianist Laura Ouimette and violinist Mitchell Drury make a return performance to the Vergennes Opera House stage with another selection of lively classical music on Wednesday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. Their “Songs from Home and Abroad” will feature both familiar and uncommon works by Copland, Gershwin, Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky and more. The performance promises to be lively, entertaining and accessible for all ages and interests.
Drury is the concertmaster of the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra. He also performs regularly with the Federal Way Symphony and the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra.
Ouimette currently serves as the organist for Seattle's Blessed Sacrament Parish, while finishing her graduate studies in organ performance at the University of Washington.
