SCHROON LAKE - "Stories in Paper: Rags, Recycling & Papermaking in Early America" is the program title for the Schroon-North Hudson Annual Fall Meeting at the Fish and Game Club, Hoffman Road on Oct. 21. Election of officers will start at 7 p.m. followed by Josh Calhoun's multimedia presentation on the history of papermaking revealing stories found literally within the pages of old books. There will be a papermaking demonstration so attendees are asked to bring a personally significant item of clothing that has a story, such as a favorite outgrown or outworn shirt or a deceased loved one's item to donate a swatch from for the papermaking pulp. This program is free and open to the public. Free refreshments.
