Addison Countys Five-Town community has united to raise funds for Bristol resident Patrick Dunn who was badly injured in an automobile accident on Feb. 13. Dunn is unable to return to work for an indefinite period of time. In one of a trio of fundraising events, local fitness buffs met at Bristol Health and Fitness April 22 for a fitness marathon. Participants worked out for three hours in step and spinning classes, doing pilates, yoga and a fitness interval training and netted over $3,400 in cash. Bottled water, fruit and bagels were donated by area businesses to keep the participants happy and hydrated. Bristol Fitness Manager Kim Jacobs deemed the marathon a huge success. The feeling of community that morning was just incredible. Its wonderful to be part of a community that will pull together like this, Jacobs said. An additional $850 has been raised through a bottle drive and bottles will continue to be accepted at the Bristol Redemption Center with proceeds going to the Patrick Fund. The final fundraiser was a 12-hour Dance Marathon at Bristols Holly Hall, April 4-5. The Mt. Abraham school community is obtained sponsors and participants for the event.
