WARRENSBURG - The eleventh annual Green Thumb Perennial Swap sponsored by Warrensburgh Beautification Inc. is scheduled for Saturday May 23. The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon by the banks of the Schroon River in the Warrensburgh Mills Historic District, on state Rte. 418 across from Curtis Lumber.
Gardeners from across the region are welcome to bring their plants, and exchange for ones of equal size or value, event organizer Teresa Whalen said.
"All are welcome," she said. " Bring friends and make new ones at our annual perennial swap."
Those who are just starting their garden may gain insight from information routinely shared at these events, she said.
"Hopefully experts on hand will answer any questions gardeners may have regarding their soil and light conditions, hardiness zone and microclimate," she said. Master Gardeners from Warren County Cornell Cooperative Extension will be on hand to test soil pH and provide informational handouts on various gardening topics and help identify any "mystery species." Whalen said.
Also, signed copies of the newly released "Warrensburgh Wildflowers- Seasonal Wildflowers in the Southern Adirondack Region" will be available for purchase.
Free refreshments will be offered. For details call Whalen at 466-5497 or e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
