On Aug. 17, at approximately 12:32 a.m., Vermont State Police responded to a telephone report of a domestic dispute on Furnace Road in Pittsford. On the scene, state police located an unidentified victim lying on the kitchen floor, face down, and complaining of back pain.
The victim told a trooper that she was pushed into the stove and then pushed onto the ground by Ricardo Ramos, 45, of Pittsford. Ramos fled the scene before the state police arrived.
The victim also reported that her 13-year-old son tried to protect her; he hit Ricardo who then punched her son twice in the head.
A Rutland Regional Ambulance arrived on the scene and transported the victim and her son to Rutland Regional Medical Center to be treated for injuries.
State police troopers, with assistance from the Brandon Police Department’s K-9 unit searched the area for Ricardo.
State police received information that Ricardo returned to the scene and was attempting to gain entry into the Furnace Road residence. He fled the residence again but was located after a search of the area.
Ricardo was arrested for second-degree aggravated domestic assault and domestic assault. He was transported to the Vermont State Police Barracks in Rutland for processing and lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Center.
