A local man was taken to the hospital after crashing his vehicle into a ditch earlier this week.
Ray Brook-based state police say they responded to reports of an erratic driver on state Route 86 early Monday morning. Troopers located the vehicle and attempted to pull it over near the train tracks just outside the village of Saranac Lake.
The driver, 40-year-old David W. Patraw of Saranac Lake, did not immediately pull over, but eventually swerved into the oncoming lane, off the road, and into a ditch.
Troopers said Tuesday that Patraw was not ticketed, but he was transported to the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake for further evaluation.
The investigation is considered ongoing.
