The Vermont State Police/Rutland troopers are investigating numerous vandalism complaints that have occurred throughout Rutland County during the early morning hours of April 4.
Unknown vandals have damaged several motor vehicles parked throughout the county. The perpetrator(s) are believed to have used air rifle type weapons to inflict the damage. The damage has been mostly found to vehicle windows. Vandalized vehicles have been reported all through Rutland County from Pittsford to Danby and Mount Holly to Pawlet. The vandalism is thought to be random, and no evidence has been found to link these incidents as an act of hostility toward anyone in particular.
Rutland area Law Enforcement is asking for the public's assistance. If anyone may have seen or heard anything suspicious during the early evening hours they are encouraged to call the State Police at (802) 773-9101 or Rutland City Police at (802) 773-1816.
