TICONDEROGA - PRIDE of Ticonderoga will sponsor a one-day training on "Lead Safe Work Practices" Friday, March 20, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hancock House in Ticonderoga. The program is free.
Federal law requires that any federally-funded renovations and/or major painting project involving buildings constructed before 1978 must be done by a contractor who has completed a "Lead-Safe Work Practices" training course.
Starting in April 2010, all renovations and/or painting projects on buildings constructed before 1978 will fall under this regulation whether it is funded by federal money or not.
All who complete the one-day course will receive a certificate of completion. To register call the PRIDE office at 585-6366. Pre-registration is required.
