WESTPORT - Westport's annual Shakespeare-in-the-Park Festival presents its second production of the season Labor Day weekend with Shakespeare's "The Two Gentlemen of Verona," directed by Rebecca Lincoln. The single performance will take place Sunday, Sept. 5, at 3 p.m. at the Performance Pavilion in Ballard Park. Like all of the festival's performances, The Two Gentlemen of Verona is free and open to the public.
As in years past, the Labor Day weekend show is performed by an ensemble group of professional actors, American Studio Theater, which was founded by Carrie Treadwell of Westport. The Westport Shakespeare-in-the-Park Festival also features an earlier production of a Shakespeare play by the young actors of the Depot Theatre Apprentice Program, who this year performed "The Tempest" Aug. 13 and 14 in Ballard Park.
