Eber Richards, 73, a prominent resident of Sandy Hill (Hudson Falls) answered the final summons on Feb. 23, 1910 at 4 o'clock in the morning when he was called to the great world beyond. He was one of the pioneer lumber dealers of this section of the state and a man respected by all who enjoyed the pleasure of his acquaintance.
He was born May 6, 1836 at Schroon Lake and for many years was a summer resident of Lake George. He was the pioneer cottage owner of the now flourishing colony of Pilot Knob and "Commodore" Richards has given pleasure to more people in his yacht "Theta" than any other yacht owner on the lake.
He is survived by his two sons, Frederick and Orson Richards. The funeral was held at his home.
