CHESTERTOWN - For one North Warren family, the winter is about to get considerably warmer.
Nelson Gould won $1,000 worth of oil bought by the newly formed North Warren Booster Club, and awarded as a prize Dec. 15 in a raffle the club held as a fundraiser.
In the drawing, only 75 tickets offered for sale at $25 each at various Chestertown businesses.
Club representatives say they wish to express a "big Thank You" to all those who participated in the drawing, whether by selling tickets, or by purchasing them.
More raffles will be held in the future, they said. The North Warren Booster Club, dormant for many years, was launched this fall on behalf of the students and their school-related activities, club organizer Amy Peet said.
Peet said the Booster Club will be raising money for field trips, uniforms, varsity jackets, extracurricular equipment and activities that aren't already funded by the school.
Those who would like to become involved in planning and conducting North Warren Booster Club activities are urged to contact Tanya May at firstname.lastname@example.org or Amy Peet @ 494-5400.
