RUTLAND - Rutland High School's Keely Levins was the first place winner in the girls 5K race in Ripton Feb. 16. Levins, a 17-year-old junior and the defending champion in Division I Nordic skiing, won the title for the second straight year. was gratifying. She won the girls race with a time of 20:06.3 Levins goal is to qualify for the Junior Olympics in Anchorage, Alaska., next month. Rutland's coach McGovern said she believed that the 1-2-3-5-21 finish by her team was a result of all their hard. February 16th competition was the classic event. The second leg of the competition takes place on Feb. 21st when schools gather at Mountain Top in Chittenden for the freestyle portion of the state championships.
