Two Rutland-area high school seniors heard the good news when they received personal telephone calls from U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy (D. Vt.) last month-"Congratulations, you have been accepted into the 2009 freshman class of the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y."
Eric Triller was accepted as a member of West Point. Triller is active in RHS extracurricular programs. He a cadet with the Civil Air Patrol's Rutland Composite Squadron. Triller's bother, Mark Triller, is a member of the United States Military Academy's Class of 2011. Mark Triller is a graduate of Rutland Area Christian School.
Cody Peterson of West Rutland, a senior at Mill River High School, was also accepted by West Point. He will join Eric Triller as an elite member of the Class of 2013.
