RUTLAND Rutland City Mayor Chris Louras and his wife Judy donated their van at Good News Garages new Rutland car donation drop-off location. Good News Garage is a car charity based in Burlington, Vermont that repairs donated cars, trucks and vans and provides them to low-income families throughout the state. Last year Good News Garage provided over 187 families with an affordable reliable vehicle. Half of those families live in Southern Vermont. The donors of the cars receive a tax deduction for their car donation. Good News Garage created the Rutland car donation drop-off location earlier this year with the help of BROC, RSVP, Shearer Honda and Brunos Truck Repair. The drop-off day is the third Saturday of every month at Brunos Truck Repair located at 261 Ranbury Road in Rutland from 9:00 am 3:00 pm. Good News Garage created this car donation site to make it easier for people living in Central/Southern Vermont to donate a car, truck or van. If you wish to donate your car, truck or van you can either call toll-free 877-GIVE-AUTO or submit your car donation online at www.goodnewsgarage.org or bring it to Brunos Truck Repair. Good News Garages mission is to create economic opportunity by providing affordable and reliable transportation options to people in need. Good News Garages goal is to repair as many donated cars, trucks and vans, and provide them to low-income working families. Good News Garage is a subsidiary of Lutheran Social Services.
