TICONDEROGA - The Ticonderoga Middle School sixth grade science fair will be held Wednesday, April 7, 7-8:30 p.m. in the school cafetorium.
The projects have changed from research-based projects to inquiry-based projects.
Science teacher Jim Burgey advised his students to develop a question about their topic and devise a hypothesis in order to answer that question. Their project is an attempt to test their hypothesis. The entire process focuses on the scientific method which scientists use to solve problems.
Each science project will consist of a centerpiece, supporting materials and a short oral speech. Research for the projects is completed in the library with the assistance of Mary Lavarnway and Tina Russell.
This year's science fair projects will include - How does lightning effect the environment? Can food generate electricity? What is the best way to reduce erosion? Does music effect chick development in an incubated egg?
