The 3rd Annual Search for a Cure will be held on Saturday, October 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. at The Pinnacle on Lover's Lane in Chester.
The Search, created by Dylan Duncan, formerly of Chester, benefits the Amyloid Treatment & Research Program at Boston University School of Medicine to support drug research for the deadly disease Amyloidosise.
In May of 2006, Dylan tested positive for the gene of Familial Amyloidosis. His mother, Janet, had suffered with the illness for five years before losing the battle in 1997. In May of 2007, Dylan was officially diagnosed with the disease.
For almost a year, Dylan has been working in the studio to record his album, What To Keep & Let Go, and is hoping for a December or January release. The song "Ask You" was written in honor of his mother and will be the final song on the record. Local Chester artist Brendon Thomas is featured on the single.
Dylan will be selling CD's of "Ask You" at the Search event and proceeds will benefit Amyloidosis research.
