Ticonderoga raced to third place in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys indoor track action Jan. 26. The Sentinels scored 74 points. Plattsburgh won with 101. Lee Berube won the 600-meter run and Tyler Bush claimed the shot for Ti. Chris Maldonado was second in the shot and Dustin Scott took second in the triple jump and third in the high jump. Alex Walters earned third place in the 3,200-meter run, Dylan Scott was third in the triple jump and Jonathan Granger was third in the long jump an fifth in the 500-meter run. The Sentinels got fourth place finishes from Bryant Austin in th 55 hurdles and 300 run, Dustin LaFrance in the 55 dash, Mike Lonergan in the 1,600 run, Jared Best in the 1,000 run, Michael Pockett in the triple jump and Anthony Contarino in the shot. Lonergan added a fifth place in the 1,000 run. Ticonderoga took second place in the girls meet with 46 points. Beekmantown won with 90 points. The 640-meter relay team of Elsie Phillips, Ainsley MacAlpine, Lexi Reale and Katherine McBride won for the Sentinels. Phillips added a second place in the 55-meter sprint and fifth in the long jump. MacAlpine was fourth in the 300. Reale was fourth in the 55 sprint. Emily Palmer won the 55-meter hurdles and was third in the long jump for Ti. Samantha Cawley was second in the 55 hurdles and 300 run. Arielle Vilardo was second in the 600 run, Katie Karkoski was fourth in the 1,500 run and fifth in the 1,000 run and Rachel Ward was fifth in the shot.
