Ticonderoga produced a trio of championships at the Section VII boys indoor track and field championships Feb. 9 at SUNY-Plattsburgh. Distance stalwart Lee Berube raced to victory in the 1,660 and 1,00-meter runs for Ti. Dustin Scott won the high jump and was third in the triple jump. As a team, the Sentinels finished third with 95 points. Plattsburgh won with 115.5. Brendan Carberry was third in the 600-meter run and Tyler Bush third in the shot for Ticonderoga. Jonathan Granger was fourth in the long jump for Ti. Bryant Austin took fifth places in the 55-meter hurdles, 55-meyer sprint and high jump. Mike Lonergan added a fifth place in the 1,000-meter run and a sixth in the 1,600 for the Sentinels. Ticonderoga also finished third in the girls meet. Ti had 79 points. Saranac won with 140. Emily Palmer won the 55-meter hurdles for Ti and the 640-meter relay team of Elsie Phillips, Ainsley MacAlpine, Lexi Reale and Anna Besson won. Phillips added a second place in the 55-meter dash and a fourth in the long jump. Reale was also third in the 55 sprint. Samantha Cawley placed third in the 55-meter hurdles and fifth in the 300-meter run for the Sentinels. Katie Karkoski was fifth in the 3,000-meter run, Amanda Powers was sixth in the shot and Arielle Vilardo was sixth in the 600-meter run and the high jump for Ti.
