A person had to be airlifted to Vermont following a skiing accident at Whiteface Mountain over the weekend.
The 18-year-old male was transported via helicopter to the Fletcher Allen Health Care Center in Burlington. That's according to Jon Lundin, director of communications at the state Olympic Regional Development Authority.
Lundin says the man, whose name has not been released, suffered a lower-back injury at approximately 9 a.m. Saturday. The accident happened on the Lower Valley trail near mid-station.
Airlifting him to Vermont was a "precautionary measure," Lundin said.
