EAST GRANVILLE Stewart Skrill, a Vermont Republican, announced that he will run for state representative for Orange-Addison 1, the district comprised of Braintree, Brookfield, Randolph and East Granville. Stewart and his wife, Karen, farm 280 acres in Randolph Center. Since 1988, Stewart has stabled horses, raised beef cattle, replacement heifers, sheep, chickens, dogs, geese and ducks, as well as garlic, sweet corn, and cut flowers for the wholesale market. He has also worked in the community at GW Plastics on the night shift, for the U.S. Postal Service as a seasonal employee and drove a School Bus for Randolph, Im running for office because I feel it is my duty to help effect a positive change in Vermont, said Skrill. I believe that the political makeup of Montpelier has swung way out of balance, and, as a result, the State House is no longer focused on mainstream Vermont issues, nor is it dealing with the problems working people and families need fixed. Of great concern to Stewart, which he considers the most serious problem of our times, is the skyrocketing price of gasoline and home heating fuel.
