INDIANLAKE- Good old-fashioned fun returns to the North Country in the form of the second annual "Be A Donor" Snowshoe Softball Tournament. The BAD tournament is a fundraiser to benefit the National Kidney Foundation and will be held, Saturday, Feb. 26, at 9 a.m. at the Benton Field.
Elizabeth Cannan, BAD chairperson, has worked diligently to raise awareness and money for the National Kidney Foundation within the town of Indian Lake.
"There are a number of ways to help make this fundraiser a continued success," she said. "Donations of theme baskets are welcome and will be used for the annual silent auction. BAD T-shirts can be purchased and contributions to the National Kidney Foundation are always appreciated."
The tournament registration fee, $10 per player or $100 per team with a maximum of 10 players, which includes a barbecue lunch. Participants can either join an existing team or can organize their own.

During the event, spectators are invited to stop by the Bear Trap and the Indian Lake Restaurants for lunch. From 12 to 4 p.m., The Bear Trap will feature live music by Jen Gadway. At 6 p.m., the tournament award ceremony and theme basket auction will be held at the Indian Lake Restaurant and Tavern. Fingerdiddle will provide entertainment at the Indian Lake Restaurant and Tavern from 9 p.m. to midnight.
The 2010 tournament proved to be a very successful fundraiser, and included 10 teams who were cheered on by more than 300 spectators. The steering committee is anticipating an increase in the number of teams this year, as well as spectators.
