PLATTSBURGH - The New York State Department of Transportation will host a public meeting to present information and answer questions about a proposed project to replace the State Route 22 bridge over Interstate 87 (Exit 36) in the town of Plattsburgh.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 19, from 5-7 p.m. and be held at the Town of Plattsburgh Offices, 151 Banker Road.
The DOT is developing design alternatives for the project. It is anticipated traffic will be maintained on-site by means of a temporary structure. The purpose of the informational meeting is to obtain comments on the proposed project from individuals, groups, officials and local agencies. The department is specifically soliciting comments on the development of alternatives for the project, on the proposed traffic control plan, and on the project's social, economic and environmental effects.
This informational meeting is part of the continuing efforts by the state DOT and the Federal Highway Administration to encourage public input into the development of transportation projects.
