RUTLAND - The students in the Stafford Technical Center Public Safety Services Program, a partnership between Stafford Technical Center and the College of St. Joseph, having been taking a course in American Government with CSJ instructor Bruce Bishop.
The students in the Public Safety Services Class take college courses as part of their program, and the students were appreciative of Bishop's dedication to excellence in teaching, so they decided to do something to show their appreciation to hm.
Bishop often likes to use a wooden lectern when he lectures to the class, but often has difficulty in finding one in the college, as there are a number of other college professors who also use them in instruction.
A request was made to the Stafford Technical Center Cabinetmaking program, which is directed by Jeff Fowler, and they agreed to manufacture a lectern for Bishop. The task of doing the construction fell to first-year student Natasha Bruso, who made a beautiful piece of furniture. The students presented Mr. Bishop with his new lectern in class on November 25, 2008.
